We’re excited to introduce Essi Redsven as the newest addition to our Market Access team! Her background in pharmacy and interest in healthcare innovations make her a great fit here at MedEngine.
Essi is kind and positive, yet rational. “I might seem a bit shy at first, but that changes when you get to know me better. I’m also so effective, people often ask if I have more hours in a day!” she laughs.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2017, Essi worked in various community pharmacies while continuing her academic journey. She studied economics at Jyväskylä School of Business and Economics before moving on to the University of Eastern Finland, where she’s now finalizing her Master’s studies in health economics. One of the most defining experiences in her recent career was an internship at Fimea’s Health Technology Assessment department.
“My internship at Fimea was a real highlight—it was both educational and insightful,” Essi shares. “And of course, I’m super excited to get started at MedEngine!”

It was during her time in pharmacies that Essi’s curiosity was piqued by the larger context surrounding medicines. “I was always curious about the cost-effectiveness of the drugs and what the value of them is in a bigger picture, and how to get the best new innovations to patients,” she says. “Besides, I have always liked numbers.”
That curiosity—and her desire to keep growing—naturally led her to MedEngine. “I wanted to work with different cases and companies. I’m in the beginning of my career, and I think that at MedEngine I get to develop my skills and knowledge with great professionals and support.”

She’s particularly excited about the diversity of projects ahead. “I like the fact that I get to work with different therapy areas and different types of Market Access projects and I get to challenge myself,” she says. “I like that there’s both independent and teamwork. MedEngine’s culture and community seem great as well.” And at the heart of it all is the purpose behind the work—“Improving patient access to new treatments is inspiring in my work.”
Her energy extends well beyond work: Essi is an active CrossFit enthusiast, plays golf in the summer, and enjoys cross-country skiing whenever snow allows. She also loves to knit, cook, and bake—and shares her home with a nine-year-old long-haired dachshund who enjoys forest walks, cuddles, swimming, and playtime.
