The MedEngine team is growing again! We are proud to introduce Heidi Loponen, our new Scientific Advisor.
Heidi comes from a biology background, having majored in physiology at the University of Helsinki. Before joining MedEngine, Heidi worked for several years in biomedical research. She received her PhD in genetics from the University of Helsinki, where her research was focused on the proliferative potential of hearing-related cells. In addition to her work as a researcher, Heidi has actively volunteered as a swimming coach and a course coordinator for a local swimming club.
Besides science, Heidi is passionate about challenging herself and learning new things. Thus, she didn’t hesitate to take the leap from academia to industry—and hasn’t regretted her choice. “Working for MedEngine’s customers offers me an opportunity to utilize the skills and knowledge I have gathered during my research career”, she says, “but I also get to challenge myself by applying these skills in a completely new context—and that’s something I find extremely rewarding.”
We are very happy to welcome Heidi to MedEngine! Her scientific expertise and enthusiasm make her a valuable addition to our team.
